Tanya lives in Newton, NJ, with her Great Dane, Ruby. She is her friendly black beauty and sometimes assist with training to help others become acclimated to being around dogs. Tanya received her training certification from Animal Behavior College in 2008. She also has a college degree in biology and a degree in animal science, with a concentration in canine and equine behavior and nutrition. She's been training dogs since 1999 using positive reinforcement methods, and eventually became certified while enhancing and continuing her education in canine studies.

Knowing how your dog is trying to communicate with you and effectively communicating back is so important to understanding how your dog learns best and how to build a close and trusting relationship with everybody in the household (yes, training involves the whole family). Bad behavior is the number one reason dogs are given up to animal shelters. As a shelter and foster care volunteer Tanya has seen how many poor souls have lost their families. As a trainer and animal lover it is her goal to help families before it ever reaches that point.
